October 2015 Newsletter Posted

Dear Auburn Village School Community,

It is hard to believe that the first weeks of school are already behind us. It has been wonderful seeing the AVS students transition to a new school year! Thank you for attending Open House to meet your child’s teacher and to learn more about the curriculum being taught. We are implementing two new positive behavior incentive programs this month. The first is the Golden Spatula Award. Each week a class in grade 1-4 homeroom and a grade level in 5-8 will receive the Golden Spatula Award. This award is based upon lunchroom behavior such as cleaning up, being respectful and talking quietly. The class and grade level that follows the rules most diligently will get the Golden Spatula and an extra 10 minute recess or break time. Our second incentive is called Raffle of Respect. A raffle ticket will be given to students who go above and beyond in terms of displaying mutual respect toward things, themselves, and others. Raffle tickets will be drawn weekly, to reward one lucky student from Grades 1-4 and 5-8. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at our many activities. Lori and Michel
