Change in CDC Guidelines

Dear AVS Families,

Last week, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) released updated guidelines for isolation and quarantine related to COVID-19 based on guidance from the CDC. Effective today, 1/11/22, the Auburn School District 2021-2022 Reopening Plan was updated to include this guidance that addresses how to safely shorten isolation and quarantine from 10 days to 5 days.

The updated DHHS Isolation & Quarantine Recommendations for the General Public can be found here: https://www.covid19.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt481/files/inline-documents/sonh/isolation-and-quarantine-recommendations_0.pdf

This new guidance may impact previously set student timelines for isolation and quarantine. Due to the high number of students in isolation and quarantine, you will not be contacted by the school administration or school nurse if your child’s isolation or quarantine timeline has changed. If your child was scheduled to be out for ten days, you may reduce that time by five days. If your child was scheduled to be out for twenty days, you may reduce that time by ten days.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns,

AVS Admin
