Spring Sports Tryouts

Please go to the AVS Athletics website to sign up and print the required forms. Please print, fill out and sign the forms where needed. These forms must be turned into the coach on the first day of tryouts. Please do NOT give these forms to the athletic director. These forms MUST go to the coach. There is emergency contact information the coach will need in case of emergency. *Your athlete will not be allowed to try out if they do not turn in all 3 of these forms on the first day. No exceptions*
Tryout days/times are as follows:
Baseball: Tuesday March 29th 3:15-4:30 PM AVS Baseball field
Softball: Monday March 28th 4:30-6:00 PM AVS Softball field
Boys Lacrosse: Monday March 28th 2:30-4:00 PM AVS Lacrosse field
Girls Lacrosse: Monday March 28th 5:00-6:30 PM AVS Lacrosse field
*These will be the practice times Monday-Thursday/Friday going forward if your athlete makes the team.
Tryouts will be at least two days, possibly three days. If your athlete makes the team, practices will begin immediately after the teams have been determined. Please plan accordingly.
Equipment Needed:
Baseball: glove, bat, cleats, batting helmet, water
Softball: glove, bat, cleats, batting helmet, water
Boys Lacrosse: helmet, gloves, elbow pads, lacrosse stick, cleats, mouth guard, water
Girls Lacrosse: goggles, lacrosse stick, cleats, mouth guard, water
*If you are a goalie or a catcher and you have your own equipment you are welcome to bring it.*
Baseball and softball games are at 3:30 PM Lacrosse game times vary (either 3:30, 4:00, 5:00, or 5:30) depending on field availability.
Every athlete who participates in sports at AVS must also have a recent physical on file with the school nurse. If your athlete has had a physical within the last year, please obtain a copy from your pediatrician and send it to Jennifer Bernier, School Nurse at If your athlete has not had a physical within the last year, you can schedule a sports physical at CVS with the following link: Please submit physicals to Jennifer prior to the start of tryouts.
Open Homework is available to those who need it after school from 2:30-3:30 in the gym Monday-Thursday, with good behavior. This is to be a quiet space for athletes to do their homework only. Athletes who do not follow Open Homework rules will not be allowed to utilize Open Homework.
