Back to School October 22, 2020

October 22, 2020

Dear Auburn Village School Parents/Families,

I want to take this opportunity to inform you that students will return to in-person learning beginning tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, with the exception of 6th grade and a number of close contacts. Thorough contact tracing has been completed and notifications were made to individuals who are a close contact. Due to staff members needing to quarantine, students in sixth grade will return to in-person learning on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Sixth grade students and close contacts will participate in remote learning until their return on November 4th. Unless your sixth grader has been notified as a close contact, they can resume everyday activities and only remain remote due to staffing issues.

Today our building was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in all areas. Our maintenance department worked very diligently to ensure our building is safe for our staff and students to return to. We want to say thank you to the entire AVS community for a swift change into remote instruction with very little advance notice. Our staff and students did a fabulous job and balanced the hiccups of Zoom or Schoology that may have come up.

Jen Bernier, our school nurse, and I will be working with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to share relevant information and to determine action steps. If you are not notified by NH DHHS, your child was not identified as being a close contact to the person with COVID-19.
